PROMOTION!

So here's the lowdown.

Cindy, used to be the Senior Shipping Clerk at the place I work. She's been there for about 15 years. Well, one day she just up and walked out. Totally out of left field.

Work decided to offer April, the Shipping Clerk the Senior Shipping Clerk position since she was under Cindy. She took that offer.

I was approached by my HR Manager and the Plant Manager that I should apply for the Shipping Clerk positon that was available since April took her promotion. I debated it for a while and decided that I would kick myself in the butt if I passed up this opportunity. Well, yesterday I was pulled aside by the Shipping Manager and he offered me the job. I took it! I'll be making a little bit more money a month and I'll have my plate full at work now. I can't wait to start.

Pissed, Let Down, Depressed...anything else horrible you wanna add?

Well, not only did I have to cancel my improv meeting set for tomorrow but I now have to cancel the improv show set for August 1st.

It was brought to my attention that half of my cast would be gone because of a rehearsal at Springhill that was brought up yesterday. I cannot rehearse a show with half a cast.
Second, it was also brought to my attention that our group was not up to par and that a couple people (not naming names) didn't have their heads in the game. And this person didn't wan to see us fail because of other people.

I could cry.

My battle plan...as of now.
Meet with BCT and hopefully become a sister organization of BCT. Hold meetings a couple times a month to establish a stronger connection with the group.
Plan random free shows around town to help promote ourselves.
HOPEFULLY, within the next couple of months have a decent group that will rock the socks off all the haters.

New Beginnings

I have decided that after 2 and a half years of almost constant bickering between Chris and I needs to stop. I have taken it upon myself to help make things between us better.

Chris has decided that he wants to make a contract saying that he will not eat out or drink sodas. He's determined to lose weight. I support him in this and rather than argue about stupid things I have decided to help him along the way.

Sunday night I asked him to wash the dishes before he went to bed....as of yesterday afternoon they were still not done. Rather than argue with him I did the dishes myself and didn't complain. Nothing good ever comes from an arguement. Also, this morning I made his lunch for work because I know that if he wants to get on the right path he needs some guidance. I doubt he'll make himself get up earlier every morning to make lunch. I figure if I am up making my lunch for work I might as well make his too. Saves effort I guess.

Anyways, I'm hoping all my hard work doesn't go in vain. I really love Chris and I want to have a future with him; one without arguements. I know time will tell if things eventually work out. I don't want to feel like I'm giving up on standing my ground but I'd rather do a little extra now and then rather than bicker about it.

Plum Tired

I have to say that after a long 3 day weekend I am sore and worn out.
Friday was very eventful. We spent all day long at Holiday World and rode almost every ride available. We left at 9am that morning and returned home at 10:30pm sunburnt and dragging our feet.

Saturday was also just as eventful. I cleaned house that morning and met up with my long-time friend Tiffany and went to the Nelson County Fair. We met up with some friends of mine and we had a blast riding rides and playing the scam fair games. That night, we had to jump a 3.5 ft fence to get back to the car and I managed to hurt myself in the process. I pulled a muscle in my left arm trying to hop over it and I landed on my right ankle a little too hard and I've been walking around in a limp for the past two days.

I'm just glad Sunday was left to rest and relaxation. Nothing but movie watching for me that day. I sure needed it.

Holiday World Countdown

It's been forever since I got to get out from this hum-drum old town and do something fun. Yeah, I've spent the day in Louisville, E-town and surrounding cities but I haven't actually driven out of state to have fun. For one, I just don't have the money to do so. And two, I never found the time.

Friday I get to spend all day long at Holiday World. I know it's nothing special. A few roller coaster, a huge water park; but if you're with people you care about then that makes the trip worth while. I'm actually excited to be leaving, even if it is only across the state line.

My next big trip: Las Vegas, NV. I have that scheduled in August with my mother and my grandmother. I've never flown and I've never been to the western states before. This should be interesting.

Happy but Broke

Chris and I recently purchased a 42" Vizio flat screen for the living room. One that cost us $697. OUCH! I'm happy with the purchase but I'm not happy that the thing cost so much.

Here's the deal Chris and I made. He would pay for the tv if I forgot about the $300 + amount he owes me for bills. Which means, the new Iphone I bought for his birthday and stuck on my credit card....I have to pay off myself. We orginally planned that he would pay for half the phone and I would pay for the other half but the tv came into play.

Now, we aren't looking to buy anything else major for a LONG time. I need time to catch my checking account up and I am supposed to be saving for my trip to Vegas in August. I was looking to take several hundred dollars and the only thing I've managed to save up is $0.00. That's not good considering I leave for Vegas August 18.

Public Enemy is a Flop

I got the chance to watch Public Enemy last night and I have to say I was bored out of my mind. The movie looked like someone had shot it with a home video camera and forgot to edit it. Not only that but the movie was WAY too long for a story that could have been told in about an hour and a half.

I'm very disappointed in this movie. The only reason I saw this movie was because Johnny Depp is very talented man and I thought this was going to be a great 1930's gangster movie. Don't get me wrong, the movie has potiential, but it just didn't shine like it should have.

I think the next time they want to do this movie I would hire someone with a little more experience with cinimatography and hire people who know how to cover up wires on an actor and can edit a Hollywood movie. I bet Depp is embarrassed about this one.

Fannie and Lou

Friday morning I got to work with my very talented friend John Coulter. He's come up with a new idea for a mini series for his DVD subscriptions called Fannie and Lou. I was approached Wednesday night and was asked to write a script for the first episode. I began writting Thursday night and came up with a rough copy that was later decided to be used for a later episode so I began working on something else.
Friday morning John brought in Sebrina Seigel to work with me as Fannie. She's is very talented and I'm happy to have met her.
I got to see the finished product and I'm very pleased with my work. I want to thank John for giving me the opportunity to work with him again on such a fun activity.
Check out his blog and subscribe to his DVD while you're at it.

A $17,500 video game

Think $60 video games are too expensive? You won't hear any argument from us, but you might from JJ Hendricks, a collector who just paid a clinically insane $17,500 for an obscure NES game from 1990.

The game in question is an ultra-rare, gold-colored version of Nintendo World Championships, a cartridge specially produced for use in a Nintendo-sponsored gaming contest. According to Wikipedia only 26 were created, and Hendricks calls it the "Holy Grail" of video game collectors.
The game itself has a time limit of just 6 minutes and 21 seconds and consists of three short segments from other NES games: Super Mario Bros., Tetris, and Rad Racer. Players are scored according to their performance in each game, and their scores are totaled once the time limit expires. Doesn't sound too riveting to us, but then somehow we doubt Hendricks is in it for the gameplay.

And while $17,500 might seem a bit much for a collection of ones and zeroes, Hendricks actually got a bargain: the game was originally listed on eBay for a cool $25,000.

First Blog of the Day

Well, after some push and pull from a friend I thought I would give blogspot a try. I have a couple ideas I would like to do with this blog.
1) Advertise my acting career and the things I've done
2) Display some news events I find particularly interesting.

Hope you enjoy.
